Minimum qualifications

- Hold a current TSPC license for teaching or other licensure from TSPC
- Background experience or training in growth mindset

- A commitment to building and maintaining relationships with at risk youth
- A high level of knowledge, skills, and expertise related to curriculum and instruction that meet the needs of all students
- A strong willingness to meet students where they are, help them to develop lasting relationships, and guide them toward a successful high school readiness path
- A proficient teaching practice
- Leadership skills and abilities
- Strong technical skills (Google Apps for Education, spreadsheets, chromebooks)
- Success in maintaining organizational systems

Responsibilities
|
- Attend two days of district professional development. Dates TBD, tentative below.
- Teach three weeks of summer school in August. See details below.
- Participate in field trips during the three week summer school program
- Develop and collaboratively plan lessons that are rooted in growth mindset, SEL and STEM focus
- Participate in a PLC with Redmond teachers focused on teaching, learning, and relationships
- Participate in ongoing professional development and collaboration during the 2021-22 school year.
- Utilization of technology in instruction.
- Develop training, informational resources, and professional development opportunities for other teachers as needed
- Assist leadership teachers with their instructional portion of their day.

Summer School Program Overview
|
- What is the goal? To ensure the success of traditionally underserved students by providing summer STEAM and SEL instruction utilizing the classroom environment. To build meaningful staff to student and student to peer relationships and create powerful student experiences to ensure future success.
- Who is involved? 4 teachers, 1 mental health specialist, 1 site coordinator and 8 Instructional Assistants

Schedule
|
- Required teacher professional development will be two days:
- Tentatively June 21, 2021 from 8-12pm
- Tentatively July 30, 2021 from 8-2pm
- StepUP Summer Camp will run Week 1: Aug 2-5, Week 2: August 9-12, Week 3: Aug 16-19
- StepUP Summer Camp will run four days a week (M-Th) from 7:15 am - 12:15 pm. on all days
- Students will attend starting each day at 7:15 a.m. Staff will also be responsible for a half hour of supervision before (7:00-7:15) StepUP Summer Camp or after (12:15-12:30).
- Teachers will continue to provide coordinated care for their former StepUP Summer Camp students during the 2021-2022 school year.

Structure
|
4 SEL teachers, 1 Mental Health Specialist, 1 Site Coordinator and 8 SEL Instructional Assistants will work together at StepUP with students K-12th grade. Teachers will work in a co-teaching environment to teach SEL and STEAM academics through the use of technology, growth mindset, and Collaborative Problem Solving and Restorative Practices. All students will have access to an electronic device and teachers will utilize the technology as a tool for the course. Teachers will incorporate the growth mindset, social-emotional learning, Collaborative Problem solving and Restorative Practices structure into their lessons and values. Teachers will teach to groups of no more than 8 students and work together to plan, develop, and deliver high impact learning experiences for students during the three weeks of the StepUP Summer Camp program.

Salary range

$3500 (before taxes) in August for certified employees only
