JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Social-Emotional Learning Specialist, serves as a specialist for students accessing intense social, emotional, and behavior intervention. The Social-Emotional Learning Specialist serves identified students within a continuum of supports, which may include both in the regular education classroom and a more restrictive alternative setting. It provides an appropriate educational program for students who experience a significant impact to their education achievement due to their social and emotional skill development and may exhibit extreme behaviors due to these lagging skills. Students supported by this position require specific, individualized, support services in order to access and benefit from general education instruction.
