We are pleased to announce that we are seeking qualified applicants for a temporary bilingual Community Liaison for our Summer Learning Program. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team that supports the efforts of making success possible for all Redmond students.
Individuals selected will work to support individuals and/or groups of K-9th grade students and families attending Summer Programming. Under the direction of the Summer Camp Coordinators, the Community Liaison will have a variety of support responsibilities as it relates to ensuring effective communication with families and students who speak Spanish.
Timeframe:
- June 1-July 15: on call/as needed
- July 16: 4 hrs on-site (connecting with families)
- July 20-Aug 13: on-site 4 hrs/day; Daily Schedule 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Qualified candidates will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Bilingual - Spanish & English
- Hold a current position within the Redmond School District (K-12 grades).
- Experience building relationships with youth.
- Commit to continuous professional growth.
- Passionate for working with elementary age children.
Responsibilities Include:
- Interpret verbal and written communication for students and families on behalf of the school.
- Understand what the speaker/writer is communicating in order to convey the same meaning verbally or in writing.
- Have a strong working knowledge of educational terminology for the purpose of interpreting for non-English speaking families.
- Interpret/translate voice/text messages for automated messages sent out by schools and district office for families who are non-English speaking.
- Accompany other staff member(s) on home visits as appropriate.
- Translate brief and informal messages when necessary and directed by a principal/supervisor.
- At the direction of the supervisor, the community liaison may need to be available outside of the “regular” work schedule on occasion to provide interpretation and translation services for unique events.

*Employees will be compensated at the current Community Liasion pay range (will be adjusted for COLA once bargained). Open to current RSD Employees.
